Biography

Edmund F Huff (1793 Northumberland County, Pennsylvania - MAY 1870 Emporium, Cameron, Pennsylvania) was the son of Edmund Huff (1747-1819) and Nancy Jones (1749-1820).

Migrated to Cameron County about 1822 after the death of his parents. He settled finally in 1827 three miles below Emporium on the Driftwood branch[1].

In 1823 Edmund married Magdelina "Mary" Spangler (1802-1885) daughter of John Spangler (1768–1860) and Mary Strawbridge (1781–1848).

  2. Nancy Jones Huff born September 8, 1827 married Philip Whitfield Whiting
  3. William Jones Huff born December 20, 1828 in Emporium, Cameron, Pennsylvania moved to Linn County, Iowa where he married Almira Walker. He later moved to Jasper county, Missouri after the Civil War.
  4. Mary "Polly" Huff (May 1831 - 9 Jul 1906 Cedar Falls, Dunn, Wisconsin) married (1) Stephen Hamilton (2) John McAllister
  5. Samuel Huff born 1832 in Emporium, Potter, Pennsylvania, unmarried
  6. Edmund Thompson Huff born April 5, 1833 in Emporium, Potter, Pennsylvania married Louisa Schmond
  7. Strawbridge Edward Huff born November 2, 1835 in Emporium, Potter, Pennsylvania married Eliza Jane Gage


Died May 1870 in Emporium, Cameron, Pennsylvania[2].

Buried in Pine Street Cemetery[3] Coffin ordered by Phillip Whiting on 26 May 1870.
