WILLIAM AND MARGARET HUFF OF GERMANY, OH, AND IN

William "Dutch" HUFF (1828 Germany - 4 Apr 1862 Brown Co, IN, bur Milne Cem, Hamblen twp, Brown Co, IN, age 34-1-13) migrated with his parents, William and Barbara HUFF from Germany to Tuscarawas Co, OH. William md Margaret SCHWEHM (1839 Germany - ) and they settled to farm in Hamblen twp, Brown Co, IN. What happened to Margaret is not known. It is possible she remarried or died before 1868, as she was not mentioned in the final probate for William HUFF. Henry HUFF was appointed guardian of the minor heirs of William HUFF on 30 Jul 1868. He sold the land to Nicholas SCOLLARD and distributed to the heirs as they reached 21. (Box 52, file 5, Brown Co Probate Records.) Ch incl:

• 1. Mary Elizabeth (1857 IN - ) lived with an uncle in Menomonie, Dunn Co, WI, after her father's death. On 12 June 1874 in Sherman, WI, she md William (or Wilfred) VANDERHOOF and had VANDERHOOF ch Henry Webber and William Walter.

• 2. Matilda (1858 IN - ) lived with her uncle William SCHWEHM in 1868. On 21 Sep 1882 she md Cummings C. NICHOL, and her NICHOL ch incl:
