Biography

Mahlon HUFF (10 May 1832 PA - 1 Dec 1902 Mendon, St Joseph Co, MI) on 11 Nov 1852 at Milton, PA, md Susanna SIGLER (26 May 1837 PA - ), and they moved soon after their marriage to MI.

Mahlon served as a pvt in Comp A, MI Provost Guard from 17 Dec 1862 at Centerville, MI, until 9 May 1865 at Jackson, MI. Mahlon received pension #446, 577. Susanna later received WC550,822. Their ch were:

1. Theodore B. (30 May 1853 PA - 24 May 1904) md Julia MYRON.
2. Agnes (1 Jan 1854 PA - 20 Jan 1854).
3. Anna M. (22 Feb 1856 PA - ) md Albert ELLIS. In 1880, she was with her parents with an ELLIS son.
4. William (19 Jul 1857 PA - 15 Feb 1858).
5. Laura A. (11 Nov 1858 PA - 7 May 1932) md John ROACH (or REASH).
6. Mary Ella (16 Jan 1860 MI - 26 Feb 1927) md William POETH. Mahlon and Susanna were with this family in 1900.
7. Mahlon Elmer (25 Feb 1863 MI - 24 Oct 1925) on 2 Aug 1894 md Emma DOOLITTLE.

Mahlon's death certificate shows his parents to be Jesse and Sarah MCELRATH) HUFF, both natives of PA. When he died, Mahlon had been md 50 years, and had had 11 ch, 8 of whom were living in 1902.
