Biography

Moses Hughes was born in 1768 in Pittsylvania, Virginia to [ [ Hughes-1556|Nathaniel Hughes] ] and [Dobson-524|Rebecca Dobson] ].

In 1790 Moses married Telitha White in South Carolina. They had five children, Lankford, Dorinda, Bradford, Elizabeth, and Moses, Jr.

The family moved from SC to Virginia and on to Alabama. Moses, Sr. died in 1855 in Talladega, Alabama.

After Telitha died Moses married Ava (Avy) Williams in 1836 in Benton/Calhoun County, Alabama.

Moses, Sr. died in 1855 in Talladega, Alabama.
