In the 1841 Census: Henry Snr is 15 and living at home in Exhall with his Father John Collage (Colledge) age 40 and Mother Charlotte (nee Richards) age 40 all born in Warwickshire. This John was baptized on the 3rd Aug 1792 at Harborough Magna, Warwickshire to a John and Ann Colledge.

In 1851 Census: Henry Snr and Elizabeth Colledge living at 121 New Town, Bedworth as Head of the house; Mary Ann is 2, Thomas is 4 months

In 1861 Census: Henry Snr and Elizabeth Colledge living at 125 (New Zealand) New Town, Bedworth as Head of the house; Thomas is 11 and Henry Jnr 7. (Mary Ann registered Oct 1848 in Foleshill as Mary Ann Hughes Burial 17 May 1857 Bedworth, Warwickshire as Mary Ann Colledge)

In 1862 Married as Bachelor and Spinster on 25 Jan 1862 at Coventry, St Michael, Warwickshire, suggesting that the prior census returns were to give an appropriate impression,

In 1871 Census: Henry Snr and Elizabeth Colledge living at 123 New Town, Bedworth as Head of the house; Henry Jnr is now 16 and a coal miner.

In 1881 Census: Henry Snr and Elizabeth Colledge living at 132 New Town, Bedworth as Head of the house; Henry Jnr is Head of his own home at 135 New Town, Bedworth with William H. age 7, Mary A age 4 and Emma age 11 months.

In 1891 Census: Henry Snr and Elizabeth Colledge living at 132 New Town, Bedworth as Head of the house and a widow.

In 1901 Census: Henry Jnr is Head at 179 New Town, Bedworth, with Eliza Colledge 47, Emma Colledge 20, Sarah Colledge 18, Esther Colledge 16, Tom Colledge 13, Clara Colledge 10, Harry Colledge 9, Levi Colledge 7. William H and Mary Ann are no longer with them.

In 1911 there are the two full census returns for William Hughes/Colledge showing a Thomas Hughes and a Thomas Lionel Colledge, but there are a further thirty two possible 1911 census returns in the returns book of which only one has a corresponding full return that of 24 Henry Street, Coventry.
