Profile states she is the daughter William Hughes and Mary Sydney (Withers) Hughes. Follow the link to her supposed father William Hughes, and it states "NOTE: It had been proposed by Hughes-Jacoby that a William Hewes b c1691 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, son of William and Sarah Hewes, was the same man as a William Hughes of Hampshire County, Colony of Virginia, whose will was dated 31 Dec 1762. This is clearly not the case. "

"Hughes-Jacoby's theory[17] was that the William Hewes born '1691' in Pennsylvania was the same man [William Hughes] whose will was dated 31 Dec 1762 in Hampshire County, Colony of Virginia, that he had married first Mary 'Sidney' Withers and second ('probably') a 'Mary Catherine Hersh', and that he had a son William Hewes who married a Lydia Dutton and who died in Chichester, Pennsylvania in 1753.

However, the father of the William Hewes who died in Chichester, Pennsylvania in 1753, was already deceased when he died in 1753. The father of the William Hewes who died in 1753 was in fact William Hewes 'the elder', described as a Yeoman and a Gent, who died intestate in 1746. The mother of the William Hewes who died in 1753 was Mary and she died around 1750. As William Hewes 'the elder' died around 1746 then he cannot be the same man whose will was dated 31 Dec 1762 in Hampshire County, Colony of Virginia.

It is unclear why Hughes-Jacoby thought the William Hughes whose will was dated 31 Dec 1762 in Hampshire County, Colony of Virginia, had a son William Hewes who died in 1753. In the will of William Hughes dated 31 Dec 1762 he made a bequest to his son William, hence his son was clearly living at that time.

Hughes-Jacoby thought that the will of Mary Hewes dated 29 Jun 1748 was that of a different Mary Hewes, i.e. a Mary (Dutton) Hewes[17], but there doesn't appear to be any evidence that a Mary Dutton married a William Hewes. There was indeed a Mary Dutton but she was under the age of 18 in her father's will of 1732.[18]

As to 'Mary Catherine Hersh or Herth', there are records of her being a servant for a brief period to a William Hughs of Philadelphia. However, there is no evidence that the William Hughs of Philadelphia was from the Chichester family or that he married Mary Catherine Hersch. See: 01 Mar 1745/1746: "John Winsor assigns Mary Catharine Hersh his servant to William Hughs of Phila. County for the remainder of her time, eight years from March 13th 1745".[19]; and 25 Jul 1746: "William Hughs assigns Mary Catharine Herth his servant to Peter Vanaken Jr. of Bucks County yeoman for the remainder of her time for eight years from March 13th 174/1742."[20]

Wlliam Hewes, a Quaker, mason, and Yeoman of Chichester, Chester County, Pennsylvania, died [probably in Pennsylvania] at some point between 30 Oct 1746 and 24 Nov 1746 and did not become a frontiersman in Hampshire County, Colony of Virginia. "

Unknown-222786 and Hughes-9127 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicates
Unknown-222786 and Hughes-9127 are not ready to be merged because: There is no primary evidence identifying Naomi as a Hughes. The so-called Millenium file is not reliable.
