Biography

Marcus Laurenson was born about 1640 in Holstein and immigrated to the Dutch-controlled Delaware River Valley about 1663-4. His first wife is unknown. [1] His second wife was Brigitta the daughter of Gustaf Danielsson of Upland, Pennsylvania. [2] His third wife was Christina, the widow of Captain Frederick de Conninck. [3]

Marcus was fined for participating in the "Long Finn Rebellion" in 1669, but was not listed in the English census of 1671. He owned 700 acres at the Bought above Verdrietige Hook (the west shore of the Delaware River in upper New Castle County) with Olof Fransson and Nils Nilsson, and appears on the 1677 tax list as "Markus Lourens". He moved to Gloucester County in 1682 and died May 4, 1689 at his plantation which he called "Putshack" on the Pennsauken Creek, Gloucester, New Jersey. [1]

Hulings-141 and Laurenson-165 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly the same person; merege into Laurenson-165, the project-protected profile with the agreed upon LNAB.

The biography is very interesting.

Huling-109 and Laurenson-165 appear to represent the same person because: The last names are different, but this is the same person. The New Sweden project has identified Marcus Laurenson as the forefather of the Hulings name. Hulings-109 has identified the correct wife, but needs to be merged into the proper LNAB.
