Elizabeth Humphry was born on March 29, 1778 in Falmouth, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of William Humphrey and Jane Flintoff. Following the death of William Humphrey, Jane and her children moved to Sackville, New Brunswick, where she established a public house.
On October 13, 1799, Elizabeth married Charles Dixon and had 11 children. On September 1, 1837, Charles and Elizabeth, and their seven youngest children, left Sackville and travelled in a number of covered wagons to Kirtland, Ohio, where they settled. In 1854, the family left Ohio for Salt Lake City.
Elizabeth died on July 17, 1864 in Payson, Utah, and was buried in the Payson City Cemetery.[1]
