Hunsicker, aged 89 years, 4 months and 17 days. Mr. Hunsicker's illness was of short duration. He was in the city on Monday, apparently in good health for one of his years. On Tuesday night he had an attack of cholera morbus from the effects of which he died. He was born in Skippack township, Montgomery county, Penn., March 14, 1801. Here he spent the early portion of his life engaging in agricultural pursuits. In 1858 he moved to Illinois, where, in partnership with his sons Isaac and Martin, he engaged in the lumber business at Forreston. Coming to Kansas in 1870 he located in Osage City, where the last twenty years of his life have been spent. Mr. Hunsicker was married three times. His family consisted of five sons and four daughters. His sons are John, Abraham, Jacob, Martin and Isaac. The first two live here, Jacob is in California, and the last two are dead. His daughters, Mrs. Catherine Dornan, who formerly lived in this city, but now lives in Seneca county, Ohio, Mrs. Anna Swartz, Mrs. Sarah Zollers, both dead, and Mrs. Mary Voglegesang, who lives southeast of this city in Olivet township. It might be said of deceased that he was all his life a devout Christian. He was brought up in the Mennonite church, but in early manhood joined the Evangelical church, usually known as "Allbright's" He lived an earnest, consistent Christian, and faithful member of the church of his choice for at least sixty years. Those intimately acquainted with him admired him for his integrity. During the last few years he had much to contend with, but through it all his highest aim seemed to be to do right and trust in God to carry him safely through his difficulties and perplexities, which were more than a man of his advanced years should have had to endure. His funeral was on Friday afternoon. The services were held in the Methodist church, and were conducted By Rev. Matre, of the Vassar circuit of the Evangelical church, who preached an impressive sermon. He was assisted in the service by Rev. Randall. He was buried on 1 Aug 1890 in American Cemetery, Osage City, KS.
