Biography

Lydia was a daughter of Thomas and Lydia Hunt, born 14 December 1744 in Weymouth, Massachusetts.^[1]

Lydia married Matthew Pratt of Braintree in 1765. They entered intentions of marriage in Braintree on on 16 August 1765.^[2] Vital Records of Weymouth indicates that they married on 21 November 1765.^[3] The History of Weymouth and one entry in Weymouth Vital Records identify the Lydia Hunt who married Matthew Pratt as her mother, Lydia (Burrell) Hunt, but Sprague asserts that this is incorrect. Matthew and Lydia Pratt had one known child:^[2]

1. Matthew. His birth was not recorded in Braintree, Massachusetts. The History of Braintree, Vermont reports a birth date of 19 January 1764, but Sprague suggests that he probably was born on 19 January 1766. He married Mary Niles, daughter of Ebenezer, and removed to Braintree, Vermont.

Lydia appears to have died before 28 October 1774, when Matthew Pratt entered intentions to marry Sarah Jones as his second wife.^[2]
