William Hunt was born about 1663 in Ipswich, Essex Co, Massachusetts. His older brother was also named William but he died at 6 days of age Ipswich VR record : Hunt, William, s. Samuell, Apr. 23, 1660 [1]
William Hunt married twice, firstly to Sarah Newman in 9 June 1684 and secondly to Rose Spark(s)-Newman on 6 March 1723/24 after Sarah's death earlier in 1723. Rose's first husband Thomas Newman at 1 June 1692 was a close relative of first wife Sarah Newman. [2] [3] William and Sarah were parents of at about twelve children. William Hunt died 12 December 1747 at Ipswich.[4]
William Hunt was called "Sergeant Hunt" as his wife Sarah's death "Hunt, Sarah, w. Sergt. William, Aug. 18, 1723." And also on the marriage to Rose.
