Biography

Sarah was the daughter of William Hunt and Ann (Tymes) Hunt. Their date of immigration is not yet researched; Sarah was possibly born possibly in Warwickshire, England where her father was said to originate, or possibly in Long Island where they were said to first settle. Additional research needed.

Sarah's date of birth is estimated as "about 1660" and possibly as late as 1668. Sarah's parents have an unsourced marriage date of 1 Oct 1660 in England. Additional research needed.

We know Sarah was married Samuel Harrison and had a daughter by 3 Sep 1688.

"Sarah Harrison" was named an executor in the 3 Sep 1688 will of her father William Hunt (abt.1630-abt.1688), as was his granddaughter (who was probably her daughter) "Anne Harrison."[1] Presumably she was at least 20 at the time and probably older. It's interesting that Sarah and her sister were named executors when they had a living brother who presumably could have handled the estate; in the absence of a son, sometimes a son-in-law would be appointed executor but that was not done in this case. Presumably this is why there was a court hearing on 1 Jun 1689 granted the sisters administration, referenced in court minutes that were added to the probate.

Samuel died intestate, and Sarah was granted letters of administration on 1 Mar 1703/4. She paid a bond on 17 March 1703/4 , with fellow bondsmen William Warner and William Clarke. The inventory by William Warner et al. included "four negroes" valued at £120. Part of the probate included an undated order by the Gloucester County sheriff for the return of "an orphan boy, son of Isaac Goodwin, belonging to the estate and detained by John Wood." He was probably an apprentice.[2]

Sarah married second Richard Bull in 1706.

Sarah Bull of Gloucester Township, widow, wrote her will 6 Jan 1742, naming granddaughter Priscilla Harrison responsible for dividing personal estate among her grandchildren; executors were sons William and Samuel Harrison. Witnesses were John Jones, Sarah Jones, Gerves Hall (Quaker). Sarah died before 20 Aug 1744 when the will was affirmed. [3]
