Mary Elvira Hunt, daughter of Thomas Hunt and Sarah T (Pope) Hunt, was born about December 1832 in Jones County, Georgia, United States. Her presumed siblings were:[1]

  • Jessee Middleton Hunt (1842-1929)

Their mother died soon after Sarah's birth. [Note: Find A Grave also has Ann Elizabeth (Hunt) Hascall, William McKinnie Hunt, James Madison Hunt connected as siblings. Henry is not connected as a sibling.][2]

M Elvira (aka Mary E) Hunt married W Henry (aka William H) Reese on 28 June 1866 in Jones County, Georgia, United States.[3]

In 1870, Mary, William and children Annie and Jessie were living in Jones County, Georgia.[4]

In the 1880 census Mary (age 44), Keeping House, was the wife of William H. Reese, and mother of 3 children, Annie, Jessie, and Pearly, in Marshallville, Macon, Georgia, United States.[5] William's widowed sister, Louisa (Hunt) Cornwall, was also living with them.

Mary remained in Marshallville, Georgia for the rest of her known life. By 1900, Mary was a widow. She still lived with her sister in law, Louisa Cornwall.[6] In 1910, Mary was living with her daughter, Pearlie (Reese) Rumph and son-in-law, Samuel Henry Rumph.

According to Find a Grave, and her headstone image, Mary died on 5 September 1917. She is buried in Marshallville City Cemetery.[2]
