NOTE
George was an officer in the Civil War. He settled at Otisville, Michigan about 1870. Here he was engaged in lumbering on a large scale, and in general store mechandising. He moved again to Abilene in 1878, where he was prominent in the development of the town, raised Hereford cattle which he imported from England, and owned extensive tracts of land for wheat and stock raising.
