Biography

Elsie Hurd, daughter of Arthur Hurd and his wife, Lottie Simpson was born in Leeds in 1890. [1]

Her father died in 1900[2] and at the following census Elsie and her sister, Louisa were living with their grandparents, Joseph Simpson and his wife, Mary Baines. [3] In 1911 she was back living with her mother, working as a costume trimmer. [4]
