Samuel Hurd was born in Killington, Connecticut, on 12 Nov 1758, the son of Samuel and Lydia (Wilcox) Hurd, later of Newport, New Hampshire.
Samuel was a farmer in Newport, New Hampshire, and a deacon in the Congregational Church.
