Sarah, the daughter of William Hurst, was born about 1847 in Totton, Hampshire, England. [1][2]She married Albert Reeves in Ryde, Hampshire, in 1870. [3]
In 1891, Albert worked as a "waterman" and their sons Albert (20), Frederick (16) and Dan (14) all worked as "boatmen." Two daughters, Frances and Nellie, also lived in the family home on Nelson Street in East Ryde.[4]
At 68, Albert worked as a "pleasure boat operator" and still lived at Clarges House, Nelson Street, Ryde, with Sarah and their son, Dan, who helped with the business.[5]
She died in 1929 and was buried at Ryde Cemetery.[6]
