Joseph was born in about 1652[1] or 1662[2] in Greenwich, Fairfield, Connecticut Colony.
Research Notes
The following is important as regards the wife of Joseph.
Mead's Historie of Ye Town of Greenwich does not name Joseph's wife.[1]
Jacobus in History of the Seymour Family gives no information other than month and year of birth and that Sarah was the twin of Mary. Likewise, NEHGR Vol. 72, page 210 is silent on the subject of Sarah other than her birth.[3]
Torrey lists the marriage of Joseph as 1685 but does not identify the wife.[4]
