The origins of Nicholas Hutchins are not known. Neither Jack Hutchins nor Gussie & E.C. Crider were able to determine who his parents were.
"As far as we have positive proof, Nicholas Hutchins is the forbear of this family. There are several traditions concerning the family, most of them based on the peculiar name, Strangeman. The most pleasing one is that some Hutchins previous to Nicholas married a Polly Strangeman."[7]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nicholas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nicholas:
Hutchins-65 is the father of Hutchins-61. The sources are already on Hutchins-65 Profile Would someone look in to this. I've been researching this family for years. My 7th Grandfather Nicholas Hutchins married my seventh grandmother Mary Watkins. I'm 99.9% sure of this Nicholas being the son of John Hutchins of Towcester England and Polly Strangeman, Daughter of Hugh Strangeman and Norma Gossett, both of Towcester England.
He was the father, undoubtedly, of at least three sons: William, Nicholasand Thomas. There was, in all probability an older sonnamed John but it has not been possible to trace him. Of the daughters of John Hutchins nothing is known. (Keith Hutchins document from 2011).
" 'John Hutchins, the younger brother in Virginia, was the father, undoubtedly, of at least three sons: William, Nicholas and Thomas. There was, in all probability, an older son named John but so far it has been impossible to trace him.
There have not been found any land patents of the proper date in his name nor are the two wills found, copies of which were sent from the Virginia State Library in Richmond, in any way conclusive.

On Strangeman Hutchins "Find A Grave" Father's Name: Nicholas Hutchens or Hutchins
Gender: M (Male)
Birth Date: 1645
Birthplace: Henrico County, Virginia, USA
Death Date: 14 Oct 1729
Death Place: Henrico County, Virginia, USA
Paternal Grandfather: John Hutchins
Paternal Grandmother: Mary Polly Strangeman
Mother: Mary Ann Elizabeth Watkins
If nothing else it stands to reason that William, Thomas and Nicholas are John and Mary's (Polly) children. Also Nicholas Hutchins son, Strangeman name is unusual.
Nicholas's father was Hutchins-65. Mother Strangeman-1. No son named Daniel. two brothers of Nicholas, Thomas 1650 to March 1732 and William 1640-1729 ( information from "Digital Collections-BYU Library")
Hutchins-1130 and Hutchins-61 appear to represent the same person because: death dates don't quite match, but both are attached as husband of Mary Watkins, so they should probably be merged. Thanks!
There are 3 profiles representing Nicholas Hutchins of Virginia 1645-1729. (Hutchins-61, -349, and -1130) Although they probably represent the same person, the only points of agreement are the years of birth and death and the place of death (Virginia).
If nothing else prove me wrong.
