  • About Christopher Hutchings

!According to Draper Papers, a letter from Robert Chester, 29 March 1884. "Tradition record from Mary Jane Hays, his mother-in-law, states that Christopher Hutchings, the ancestor, came from England among the early settlers in Virginia. However, this is uncertain. Pembroke Tribe, Bermuda is also an option.

Assumed to be from Somerset and part of the Norfolk, Virginia, Hutchings Family, Full Context of Pittsylvania County, Virginia History

LDS records say Christopher's wife Elizabeth Parks," fThomas Parks," was born Essex County, Va. in 1725. but a more realistic date is 1722. Essex, Caroline, Orange, and Culpepper Counties were all the same area depending on the period of the information.

Christopher Hutchings and Elizabeth were married ca 1739/40 probably in Essex County, Va.

Christopher Hutchings is listed in the Soldiers of Virginia Colonial Wars, compiled by the Virginia Historical Society, along with John Donelson.

Hutchinson-4792 and Hutchings-510 appear to represent the same person because: clearly intended to be the same person, all Rev War records indicate a birth in Virginia....

Hutchings-824 and Hutchings-510 appear to represent the same person because: they share the exact same death date, the same spouse and the same marriage year, 1746. Also, the first Christopher's birth date could not have been 1774 if he married in 1746.

In all my years of research I have yet to find and evidence of the parentage of Aaron Hutchison of Duplin, NC. I have run across Christopher Hutchinson as a possibility but never found a solid connection. One major piece of information missing is Aaron did not name any of his sons Christopher, which was a very common practice at the time. Nor did any of his sons name their sons Christopher.
