Biography

William Hutchins was born about 1638, in probably, Newbury where his father first settled.

He married in Haverhill, 1 July 1661, Sarah Hardy. She died 19 September 1684.

Children:

  1. William, b. 21 December 1662; d. same day.
  2. William, b. 20 November 1664.
  3. Joseph, b. 20 January 1666/67; d. 28 October 1684.
  4. Benjamin, b. 12 January 1668/69; d. 4 April 1676.
  5. Sarah, b. 2 September 1671.
  6. John, b. 23 July 1673.
  7. Mary, b. 15 April 1676.
  8. Benjamin, b. 11 April 1679.
  9. Thomas, 27 January 1681/82; d. 18 February 1681/82.
  10. Samuel, 24 January 1683/84.

William married second, 30 April 1685 in Bradford, Elizabeth (Eaton) Groth.

William deposed in April 1716 concerning the bounds of Robert Swann's land (recalling a perambulation thirty years prior) and added to his testimony on 25 June 1717.[1] This is the latest record found thus far of him. He was at that time about seventy-nine years old.

Research Notes

Hutchins-254 listed Edmunds-98 as William's wife. The Lynn Massachusetts Vital Records [2] states that Mary Edmunds married Joseph Hutchings [sic] 1 Sept 1657.
