Nichol Note: Major and Ralph Hutchinson apparently served in the New Jersey (Loyalist) Militia in some servant capacity appropriate to their young ages (officers' aides, for example); one source, p. 417 of an unidentified volume entitled "Loyalists of the American Revolution," photocopied in this database, garbles the facts by stating that John Hutchinson actually sent 3 sons and 2 servants into the NJ Militia's service.
