Bert was born in 1909. He was the son of Fred Hutchinson and Madge Gower. He passed away in 1918.

Bert Hutchinson Accidentally Shot: Two Youths, Ranging in Age From 7 to 11 Years Accidentally Discharged Gun^[1]

Last evening about seven o'clock word reached Piney that little Bert Hutchinson, the 11 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hutchinson, who live on Green river had been accidentally shot in the head by the younger brother, Ray.

It appears that the two little fellows in the absence of their parents procured a gun, the calibre we could not learn, and as near as we can learn they had as shell caught in the magazine, and as they were working with the fire arm extracted the cartridge from the magazine to the chamber and discharged, the bullet striking the unfortunate boy in the head - death being almost instant.

Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in the Big Piney cemetery.

The bereaved parents have the sympathy of this community in their hour of sorrow.

Funeral services for Bert Hutchinson, who was accidentally shot last week were held Friday morning at 11:00 o'clock at the Congregational Church. Rev. D. D. Reese of Pinedale was down and had charge of funeral, making some very interesting remarks on the life of the young boy and offered consoling and tender words to the grief-stricken parents and family. A large concourse of friends were in attendance at the church to pay a last tribute of respect to the departed youth. Interment was in the Big Piney cemetery. May he rest peacefully.
