Notes
Annie Hutton visited Beaconsfield, South Canterbury in 1906. Don Hutton has a postcard dated the same year sent to William Barrie Hutton from Melbourne and signed by "Cousin Annie." In 1998 Gwenyth Evans remembers that a Miss Hutton from Victoria visited Alpine Farm and brought furs from Australia. She appears to have been named after her grandmother Ann whose name was recorded as Wyli on Robert and Elizabeth's Marriage Entry. It seems possible the name may in fact have been Wylie.
