I think Robert Hutton was born in Dundee in around 1730.

Robert Hutton and Euphemia Rankine had four children: Andrew (a ship's carpenter), Christian, Elisabeth and James, all of whom were born in Dundee in the 1760s.

It's possible that Robert Hutton might have hailed from the Leuchars area in Fife, Scotland.
