Newark resident Charles J. Hutton died on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004.
Mr. Hutton, 83, was a lieutenant in the United States Army.
He was an army air pilot during World War II.
He was a dock master for the City of New York for 25 years, and he was also a tugboat captain.
Mr. Hutton was an avid golfer and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gladys Hutton; son, Thomas Hutton and his wife Patricia of Pleasantville, N.Y.; daughters, Patricia Colucci and her husband Vincent of Newark, and Janice Wilson and her husband Peter of Wilmington; sisters, Helen Kwake of Woodbridge, Va., and Jane Kelsch of West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services were held at Holy Angels Church in Newark, and at the Doherty Funeral Home in Pike Creek.
Burial was held privately.
