Biography

Sarah Hyde was born in 1794 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the child of Daniel and Sarah. She married William Benton on September 19, 1819, in Spotsylvania, Virginia. They had nine children during their marriage.

In 1840 census in Spotsylvania.

She is listed in the 1850 census in Loudoun County with her husband, William and 5 children. She died on February 5, 1854, in Middleburg, Virginia, at the age of 60 and was buried there in Sharon Cemetery. Tombstone states death date and wife of William Benton. Died at age 60.

Virginia Deaths and Burials, 1853–1912 lists Sarah's birth date as "about 1794" to Daniel and Sarah Hyde. Maiden name of mother unknown.
