Alexander was born on 6 December 1895 at Tuapeka Mouth, Otago, New Zealand, the ninth of eleven children of James Hyslop and Janet Robb.[1]
His parents had arrived in NZ aboard the R.M.S.S Rimutaka, which sailedfrom London on 6th April 1895 and arrived in Port Chalmers, NewZealand on 30th May 1895.
He died on 12 May 1956 aged 60 years. [2]
