Biography

Samuel Ingram was the son of Jonathan Ingram and Joanna Kellogg.

Samuel Ingram married Deborah Underwood May 24, 1804 in Marlboro, Vermont. She was the daughter of Jonathan Underwood. Samuel and Deborah had the following children : Roswell born 3 June 1805 who married Laura Pratt; Almina born May 25, 1809 -d. 1864 who married Winslow Bowen; Emaline born Nov 6, 1811- died 1885 who married Martin Crafts; Chester born Aug 21, 1814 - died 1886; Dwight born Apr 30, 1821 - died 1868; Lucinda born Nov 10, 1823 and died May 19, 1824 at 6 mos.

Deborah died Dec 29, 1824 and Samuel married Anna Sargent June 16, 1825 in Newfane, Vermont. They had 2 children: Samuel, Jr.born Mar 11, 1826 and Anna Lucinda born Dec 31, 1827 Newfane, VT

Samuel Ingram owned the Williamsville Cemetery land and and it was first a private burial ground. In July of 1830 he deeded the land to Aaron Robinson, Benjamin Prescott and others to be used as a public buying ground forever. [1]
