Biography
Possibly born in Pickens Co, Ga 1880 US Federal Census puts the family in Cherokee Co. I know they lived in the Tate/Nelson communities because her husband worked for the Tates in the marble mining industry. I remember her well as she lived until I was 11.

According to family stories and some evidence that remained until the 1960's. Laura and her husband had battery operated lights in their house before 1930. Power was not run to the farm until 1957.
