Robert was born about 1791 in Killbride, Bute this is estimated based on census records. His parents were John Ingram and Catherine Hamilton.

Robert Ingram married Ann Cook (~1795 - ~1881) on 10 December 1816 in Kilbride, Bute^[1].

In the 1851 census Robert (age 60), Seaman, was in Kings CrossKings Cross, Kilbride, Bute.^[2]

Robert died on 5 February 1867 at Kingscross, Kilbride, Bute at the age of 75 years. His cause of death was given as Effusion of the Brain. David Sinclair his son in law was the informant as to the death^[3].

In the 1861 census Robert (age 67), Seaman, was in Krings Cross, Kilbride, Bute.^[4]
