Edward Joseph Ingram and Ann Rebecca Ingram (nee Bennett)
Edward Joseph Ingram was the eldest son & child of Joseph and Ann Francis Ingram and grandson of Benjamin & Sarah Ingram was born on the 17th day of August 1838 at The Watermans Arms Inn Hersham - (The Family Bible of Joseph Ingram is now(1923) in the possession of Edward Joseph Ingram son of Samuel Ingram and grandson of Edward Joseph Ingram in question) and after the entry of his birth states "Coach too late" - this was always a joke with the family meaning being that it was decided the coach should come off at her house, but the women folks arranged so that it should come off at her mothers house (The Watermans Arms).
He was apprenticed a carpenter to Messers Thos Piper and Sons Builders of Bishopsgate Street.
He was married by license at St. Marks Church Surbiton on the 19th December 1862 to Ann Rebecca Bennett a daughter of James Matthew Bennett a printer of Oxford (the writer holds the marriage certificate) she was born on the day of December 1836 and baptised at St. Ebbs Church Oxford on the 8th day of January 1837.
They had issue as follows:-
Joseph Edward Ingram born 5th day of Dec.1864
Ada Mary Ingram born 21st day of March 1866 (3. 1867 on birth certificate)
Rose Frances Ingram born 29th day of Sep.1868
Kate Emily Ingram born 7th day of Feb.1870
Frank John Ingram born 29th day of June 1871
Sarah Ann Ingram born 7th day of Dec.1872
Samuel James Ingram born 6th day of Aug 1874
Abel Jenkins Ingram born 13th day of Nov.1875
And married as follows:-
Joseph Edward Ingram married Gertrude Mayhew and had issue two daughters.
Ada Mary Ingram married George Power and had issue 1 son and 1 daughter.
Rose Francis Ingram married Samuel John Hawkins.(1. one son Edward)
Kate Emily Ingram married Fredk.H L Shipton.
Frank John Ingram married Esther Ennis.
Sarah Ann Ingram married Alfred Belchamber.
Samuel James Ingram married Caroline Campion.
Abel Jenkins Ingram married Alice Locker.
Ada Mary and her husband George Power a Dental Instrument Maker and her two children went out to New Zealand Sep. 7th 1922.
Rose Frances and her second husband (3. Geoffry Hawkins) went out to San Diego, California.
Kate Emily & her husband started a Dairy business at Spalding Lincolnshire in 1922 - he died in Kingston Hospital and was buried at West Molesey.
Frank John died Nov.9th.1906 and was buried at Walton-on-Thames in same grave as his Father & Mother.
Sarah Ann and her husband was in business as a grocer at Charlton and afterwards went out to Sacremento California.
Abel Jenkins and his wife went out to Canada where she died.
Edward Joseph Ingram died at Walton-on-Thames on the 18th.day of January 1923 aged 85 years. Ann Rebecca his wife died on the 17th.day of April 1912 aged 76.
Frank John their second son died Nov.9th 1906 aged 35.
Samuel John Hawkins son-in-law died
A marble cross is erected in Walton cemetery to their memory and the grave spaces are No.162 & 163 the writer holds the parchment for the purchase.

On front Frank John Ingram who fell asleep Nov.9th.1906 Aged 35 years. The Lord hath need of him.

(3. In the book there follows a sketch of grave arrangement showing the left hand plot to be turfed over and no memorial at the express wish of E J Ingram)
1911 Census shows that no children were at home and that Stanley Kinch was a Boarder M 36 1875, Sanitary Inspector to Walton-on-Thames U.D.C. born Torquay , Devon.
Census also advises that one of eight children had died.
