DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Irby-514 and Irby-195 appear to represent the same person because: they share similar vital statistics, the same parents, the same siblings, the same spouse Mary and the same daughters, Wilmouth and Nancy.
Irby-514 and Irby-195 do not represent the same person because: Harrison Irby (Irby-514) and William Irby (Irby-195) were named as two separate sons in the 1787 Halifax Co., VA, will of Anthony Irby (Irby-128). Anthony's will names son William Irby. The will also names granddaughter Nancy Irby daughter of Harrison Irby and granddaughter Wilmuth Irby daughter of Harrison Irby. Anthony's will doesn't leave a bequest to Harrison Irby (only to his daughters) indicating that Harrison was dead before Anthony wrote his will.
