Pitkin Ireland has English ancestors.

Pitkin Gross Ireland (and his twin sister, Rebecca Gross (Ireland) Moffatt (1840-1908)) were born in Murray Township, Northumberland County, Upper Canada on Feb. 5, 1840. He was a son of Richard Ireland (1805-1874) and Elizabeth Arabella (Snelgrove) Ireland (1810-1894). Like his father and most of his brothers, he became a farmer, first in Murray Township, and later in Cramahe Township.

On Nov. 16, 1867, in Northumberland County, he married Emerilla (Chatterson) Ireland (1842-).[1][2] Their family included:

Pitkin died on May 14, 1917, in Cramahe Township.[3] He is buried there, in Salem Cemetery.[4]

Ireland-3375 and Ireland-823 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, spouse, birth date. His correct first name is Pitkin; but it appears spelled many different ways (e.g., Pilkin) in different records (no surprise).
