Avice (or Avis) was born sometime between 1584 and 1596 in Wiltshire, daughter of George Ivey and Susan Hyde.
She married Fulk Hungerford and they had 4 children.
Fulk died in 1620 and at some time after Avice went to Ireland with son Fulk (who died there in 1642).
Whilst in Ireland Avice reportedly married one Purcell said to be an Irishman and a Catholic with property in Kilkenny; he was killed in the "Rebellion" and Avice later married (either one or two) English Army officers who died in Ireland. [1]
In 1654 Avice is married to Walter Backhouse, (probably in 1652) who is described as late of Ireland but now of the City of London when son Henry instigated Chancery proceedings relating to the estates of late husband Fulk Hungerford and late son George Hungerford. [2]
Mentioned in the will of her grandmother Ann (Sibell Colthurst) Hyde 1606. [3]
