When Henry Clay Jacks was born on November 29, 1853, in Missouri, his father, Perry, was 26 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 16. He married Mary Alice 'Allie' Blankenship (1862-1930) on June 4, 1881, in Monterey, California.[1]
He died on February 1, 1940, in King City, California,[5] at the age of 86.[6]
Henry Clay Jacks Passes In King City
Henry Clay Jacks, 84, who crossed the plains by covered wagon to become one of the earliest American settlers in Monterey county, died yesterday in King City.
He was the father of Mrs. Laurence Rodriguez and Mrs. Pete Pulisevich, and grandfather of Maralee Pulisevich and Laurence Jr. and Jimmy Rodriguez of this city.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at King City with interment at the Salinas Odd Fellows cemetery.[7]
