Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

Eager to sift beyond all the myths, inconsistencies, and half-truths perpetuated generation after generation via oral histories on both sides of my family - I want facts! I want to know exactly who "my" people were, and I'm interested to see how I am connected to the world community at large. I'm very excited to begin this quest and look forward to collaborating with others and assembling the currently fragmented picture of my family. Perhaps soon I will become an experienced "genealogist" who is able to help others in their search.

I notice you uploaded a GEDCOM. That's awesome. Our GEDCOM process is a bit different than what you might be used to on other sites. We have some great help pages to make your experience go more smoothly:

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial e-mail from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.
