KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, James Wrenn and George Loman are held firmly bound unto the state of North Carolina in the full sum of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS. current money, to be paid to the said State of North Carolina; for the payment of which, well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and soverally and firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated 24th (?) day of February A.D. 1871. THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, that the above bounden James Wrenn hath made application for a license for Marriage, to be celebrated between him and Polly Jackson of the county aforesaid; now in case it shall not hereafter appear that there is any lawful cause or impediment to obstruct said Marriage, then the above Obligation to void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. ↑ 1850 and 1860 Census Apparently Mary A. Jackson Wrenn was alive in 1850. Martha A. Wrenn was apparently born after the family was enumerated on the October 11, 1850 census. Since James married Mary Heritage in 1854, we know that Mary A. Jackson Wrenn died before then.
