Biography

Flag of Northamptonshire (adopted 2014)
Anne (Jackson) Arrington was born in Easton on the Hill, Northamptonshire, England.

Anne was the daughter of Henry and Rebecca (Sharman) Jackson. She was christened on 14 September 1760. Anne married William Arrington on 14 September 1760. Together they had at least six children. Anne passed away at the approximate age of 44.[1]

Ann was reportedly born in 1760, England. She died in 1804. [2] Family notes say: "Anne Jackson was born in England was 'the most beautiful hussy ever to cross the Atlantic'. Perhaps she was the Cleopatra of Nash County." She was said to have had 11 children, three out of wedlock. She was William Arrington's first wife.

Ann Jackson and Micajah Thomas were not married. Micajah Thomas' will names the three daughters they had together - Mourning Thomas Jackson, Margaret Thomas Jackson & Temperance Thomas Jackson [3]

Unlike today, children born outside of marriage had no legal right to use their father's surname (unless he "legitimatized" them via an act of the legislature); they carried their mother's legal surname at the time of their birth.

An article in the online edition of the Dictionary of North Carolina Biography gives further details about Micajah Thomas' children and Ann Jackson - https://www.ncpedia.org/biography/thomas-micajah-jr

Jackson-42074 and Jackson-35834 appear to represent the same person because: I was working on Micajah Thomas' family and created Ann Jackson as the mother of three of his daughters, based on Micajah's will. Further research showed that she married William Arrington after Micajah Thomas' death. She and Micajah Thomas were never married.
