Arthur was born about 1757 near Caldbeck in Cumberland, England, son of Jeffrey and Anne Jacques/Jack.[1]
25th April 1757: Baptised at Caldbeck.[1]
6th October 1782: At Bishopsthorpe, near York, Arthur is ordained as a Deacon and appointed Assistant Curate for the coastal parishes of Filey and Muston in North Yorkshire.[2]
12th October 1783: Ordained as a Priest.[2]
3rd February 1789: Appointed Vicar of Willerby, near Staxton, North Yorkshire.[2]
9th July 1789: Arthur, as Minister, oversees the wedding of his sister Elizabeth to John Cowton, at Hutton Buscel (approx. 5 miles from Willerby).[3]
1791: Resident at Hutton Buscel, Yorkshire, as noted in the will of his uncle Lancelot Jacques, from whom Arthur inherits some land and real estate in Washington County, Maryland, USA.[4][5]
21st March 1794: Appointed Schoolmaster of Hawnby Petty School, while remaining in post as Vicar of Willerby.[2]
7th September 1796: Appointed Curate at Hawnby, while remaining in post as Vicar of Willerby. "Stipend £40 plus surplice fees and the use of a house."[2]
2nd August 1798: Marriage of Arthur Jacques and Mary Cooke at Hawnby.[6] No known issue.
1823: Arthur remains in post as Vicar of St Peter's Church at Willerby, which has a population of 34.[7]
8th January 1828: Death of wife, Mary.[8]
30th August 1830: Death of Arthur at Staxton, near Willerby.[5][9]
2nd September 1830: Buried in the churchyard of St Peter's, Willerby.[10] The parish burial record notes the following:
