Denton Jacques b. 1748 in Carlisle came to Maryland with his uncle, Lancelot b. 1711. Lancelot b. 1711 and his brother Jeffrey b. 1712 were sons of Lancelot b. 1683 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and came from a family of French Huguenots. Denton Jacques b. 1748 had an additional son who is not listed here named Arthur Jacques b. 1784. Arthur had a son named George Lowe Jacques b. 1821 (among other children), whose son Charles Campbell Jacques b. 1888 is my great-grandfather. See, for example, the book Memories in Ink: Edgemont a Country Hamlet by Hellane (pub. 2013), esp. Chapter 8: Nicodemus and Jacques Families for more information about Denton b. 1748 and family.
