Ann (James) Turner immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).
Ann James the daughter of Philip James and his wife Jane who was baptised at Rockland St. Peter, Norfolk, England on 16 August 1632.[1][2] She was one of the four children of Philip James and his wife who arrived in 1638 in New England from "Old Hingham" and settled in "New Hingham." [3]
The evidence that she was the daughter of Philip and wife of John Turner is circumstantial but likely: a son Philip was named in her husband John Turner's will, and land of Anne's step-father, George Russell of Marshfield, was sold to John Turner Jr. of Scituate. Anne's mother Jane surrendered her dower right to this property. Estimates of her birth of about 1629 as given in a published genealogy,[6] or by about 1632 based on an age of 44 at the birth of her last known child in 1676.
Ann probably died before 1687 when she was not mentioned in her husband's will.[7]
