His parents were Peter jamieson and Margaret Rough who married in Newtyle 25 Nov 1832. Siblings: Alexander 1834 and Catherine 1837were born at Kirriemuir. Catherine died as a baby.
His father Peter was born in 1808 in Kirriemuir where his father was a linen maufacturer supplying materials to the hand-loom weavers. Peter and family lived at East Mill, Kirriemuir and later at the Saw Mill on Glasswell estate. Andrew's mother died in 1839 and his father married Jean Peter in December 1840. Peter, Jean Andrew and Alexander appear in the 1841 Census of Kirriemuir. The Jamieson family lived in Kirriemuir throughout in 1700's. I have much more information on them.
