OBITUARY MRS. ALICE MAUD TOLHURST After a brief illness, Mrs. Alice Maud Tolhurst, of Russell street, Woonona, passed away unexpectedly on Monday week (says the Wollongong "Mercury"). The funeral left the home at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, being largely attended by relatives and friends throughout the whole district. The interment took place in the Independent section of the Bulli cemetery, in a grave near that of the late mother of deceased's husband, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. A., Turner (Anglican). The late Mrs. Tolhurst was born in Bulli 64 years ago, and had remained in the district practically all her life, being the daughter of the late Edward and late Sarah Jane Jarrett, other members of this respected family still residing in the district. Following the death of a former husband, the late Arthur Kelly, she married Mr. Ernest Herbert Tolhurst, at Bulli, the only issue of the marriage being Miss Sadie Tolhurst, the talented 17 year old pianiste. The late Mrs. Tolhurst was of very quiet and reserved nature, kindly disposed to all and particularly to children, little ones in her neighbourhood affectionately addressing her as "grandma." Members of the first family are Mrs. W. Hayes (Brownsville), Mrs. A. Haberley (Woonona), Arthur and Edward (Woonona), James (Taree), Mrs. D. Finley (Corrimal), Mrs. J. Turner (Brownsville). One of the chief mourners at the graveside was the father of the bereaved husband, Mr. Ephriam Tolhurst, of Woonona, who is in the vicinity of 84 years of age.

She is buried in Bulli Cemetery.
