After you've volunteered and been confirmed, as you build your family tree, you search for cousins using the 'Find' drop-down-box on the top right hand side of your profile page. Often cousins find you first. At that point, you ask to be on the trusted list of the individual you want to connect to. Each profile has it's own trusted list. That's because WikiTree is very serious about privacy. You can choose the privacy level you want for you, but any living person you add should have the red lock for privacy. No one can see their detailed information, but people you add to the trusted list. Even if you don't want to become a member of the WikiTree community, you can still ask questions on G2G forum and do searches, even add or correct data on other profiles. Hope this helps. :)
