Biography

Fealin Jeffers was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

Fealin was born on December 21, 1865 at Bull Creek in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of Jasper Jeffers and Elizabeth ( Newport ) Jeffers . He married Lodessa ( Dessie ) Sexton on November 16, 1919 in Scott County. Fealin was a farmer and passed away from stomach cancer on March 28, 1933 at Oneida in Scott County.

Jasper Jeffers (age 37 and b. in TN) was head of a household in the 1880 census for Bull Creek, Scott Co., TN. He was living with his wife Elizabeth (age 38 and b. in Tn), son Fielding (age 14 and b. in TN), son Berry (age 12 and b. in TN), daughter Mary (age 6 and b. in Tn), son Monroe (age 4 and b. in TN), and son Esaw (age 2 and b. in TN). Jasper was a farmer.

Obituary,

JEFFERS, FEALIN - "Cordell". Mr. Fealin Jeffers died last Tuesday night, March 28th, he had been seriously ill for two weeks. He was 67 years of age, and leaves a wife, Mrs. Dessie Jeffers, five daughters, three sons, five step children, two brothers and two sisters besides a host of friends and relatives to mourn his absence. He was buried Thursday in the Jeffers cemetery with the Revs. M. D. and John L. Lawson and Maynard Jeffers conducting the funeral. Mrs. Martha Collins returned to St. Louis, Mo., Thursday after being here on the account of the illness and death of her father, Fealin Jeffers. (Source: The Scott County News, 7 Apr 1933, p3)

Jeffers-335 and Jeffers-701 appear to represent the same person because: It looks like I duplicated Clayton's profile because of the wildly different spellings throughout Fealin's life. Sorry about that! I don't need to be a manager.
