Biography

Cassie was born on July 4, 1935. She was the daughter of James Jeffers and Flona Laxton. She married Charlie Michael Williams on May 2, 1958 in Scott County. Cassie was a member of the Buffalo Bridge Baptist Church, and was retired from the Scott County School System where she taught for 37 years. She passed away on November 8, 2012 at her home in Oneida, Scott County.

Cassie Faye Jeffers Williams, 77, of Oneida, passed away November 8, 2012, at her home.

Born in Scott County, July 4, 1935, she was preceded in death by her parents, James Dillard and Flona Laxton Jeffers; daughter, Dianna Gail Williams; brother, Carl Jeffers; and sister, Anna Mae Jeffers.

She was a member of Buffalo Bridge Baptist Church, and was retired from the Scott County School System where she taught for 37 years.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie M. “Bud” Williams; sister, Reba Russell Brummett; special friend: Dr. Bruce Coffey; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted November 11, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida with Bro. Kermit Phillips officiating. Music was provided by Jimmy and Sarah Byrd. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery. Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida had charge of arrangements. (Source: The Independent Herald, 15 Nov 2012, pA5)
