Richard Roy Jeffs was born in 1898 at Yass, New South Wales, Australia. He was the fifth son of John Jeffs and [[Bateup-113|Eliza Bateup].[1]
Richard Jeffs is an Anzac who served in World War One.
On 18th June 1918, he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force for service overseas during The Great War. He was posted to the 4th Australian Infantry Battalion, then in the trenches of the Western Front. He returned to Australia 6th October 1919.[2]
