Biography

1776 Project
Private Enoch Jenkins served with 8th Massachusetts Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Enoch Jenkins was born 16 August "abt." 1763 in Malden, Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, to parents Nathaniel Jenkins Abigail Baldwin. [1]

Enoch Jenkins, was a private in the 8th Regiment, Massachusettes. He served under Capt. Ephraim Cleveland, 1777-79, and in Col. Michael Jackson's regiment, 1780. When Lafayette reviewed the army he complimented him upon his soldierly bearing. He died 5 January 1846, and is buried in Java Cemetery, Wyoming County. New York, New York, USA.[2]
