Biography
George was born in 1829. George Jenkins is the son of George Washington Jenkins Sr. and Elizabeth (Weakley) Jenkins. He is listed with his parents on the 1850 Census[1] just prior to his marriage to Eleanor "Ellen" Lillard on October 13, 1850.[2] The couple are listed together on the 1860 Census[3], the 1870 Census,[4] and the 1880 Census.[5] The census records indicate they had at least fourteen children. He passed away in 1899 at the age of 70 in Union Township, Poweshiek, Iowa.[6]
